Who we are

Personal Choice Carers at Home was established in 2012 by Liz and Caroline.

I have been caring for my mum who has been living with Multiple Sclerosis for many years. By living through this illness with my mum, I have experienced all aspects of the disease both emotional as well as physical, that people face on a daily basis, and was very lucky to meet Caroline, who was involved in mum's care, and has experienced family members living with Alzheimer's and Stroke. We both have been involved in organising health care appointments, carers, personal and household care and dealing with all the needs involved in caring for a close family member. This has given us the knowledge and empathy to put ourselves in other people's shoes and the desire to help others in the same situation.

Personal Choice Carers at Home is a care agency in Wickford born from family values. We deliver quality, compassionate home care and many of our carers have family experience in supporting people faced with advancing age, infirmity or disability: they bring that compassion and care to their work and care approach. We are here to help people remain in the familiar and much-loved surroundings of their own homes, whilst retaining their independence and choice.

The staff at Personal Choice Carers at Home all believe in the same values as ourselves. We interview and assess them personally to ensure that they have a natural compassion for others, and want to make a real difference to peoples' lives. All staff begin their roles with the Care Certificate Induction program, which enables them to begin working towards a NVQ diploma in Health and Social Care. They also have on-going training to ensure they are fully qualified to meet specific needs, and are capable and competent at giving care assistance.

Our Team

We are a care agency in Wickford, who believes that one of the most important parts of our service to you is to provide Carers who believe in the same values as we do. They are empathetic, understanding and have the desire to provide highly professional care.

When going through the recruitment process, they will need to show the qualities required to be a Care Assistant at Personal Choice Carers at Home. They must then undergo thorough pre-employment checks, including references and DBS checks.

Matching just the right Carers with the individuals needs is so important to us, so we meet with you to introduce them to you before our service commences to make sure that you are comfortable and feel happy with the people coming in to your family home.

After your service begins we will visit regularly to ensure that you are being provided with the service that was planned, and that you and your family are satisfied with every aspect of the care assistance received.
